Use case scenarios
Scenario 1: Hide a service from online
A premium service is only sold via consultation. Disable online booking for it. The service still exists internally and can be added to bookings by reception, but the public can't book it directly.
Scenario 2: New-customer-only intro offer
An introductory offer is for new customers only. Set "New clients only" restriction. Returning customers won't see it on the public booking page.
Scenario 3: Gender-specific service
A men's grooming service is set to "Male only". On the booking page, female customers don't see it; male customers do.
Scenario 4: Loyalty perk
A "VIP touch-up" service is restricted to existing customers. New clients can't book it; loyal customers see it as a special offering.
Tips
- Default to all-customers: restrict only when there's a real reason.
- Don't use online booking off as a "secret menu" tool: customers will find out and feel cheated.
- Test customer view: log in as a new customer (incognito), see what they see. Restrictions should work as intended.
- Communicate the restriction: a service description like "for our existing customers only" softens the no-online-booking experience.
