Use case scenarios
Scenario 1: Adding a signature service
The salon launches "Brazilian blowout, signature treatment". Service name: "Brazilian blowout signature", category: Hair, type: Service, description includes a vivid sentence about the experience. Active. Bookable. Customer can find it on the public booking page within minutes.
Scenario 2: Internal-only service
A "Free consultation" service for new customers, but only bookable internally (not online). Create the service, set "Online booking allowed" to off. Reception offers it during phone calls; the public can't see it.
Scenario 3: Bundle from existing services
Combine "Cut + Color + Treatment" as a single bundle service at a discounted package price. Type: Bundle, link 3 existing services, set the discounted bundle price. Customers book a single line, the system schedules all three.
Scenario 4: Test before going public
A new service is being trialled. Create it as Inactive (toggle off). Reception can still test-book it for chosen customers. Once confirmed, toggle Active and it appears on the public site.
Scenario 5: Quick clone
Adding a "Hair color refresh" service that's similar to "Hair color full" but shorter. Open the existing one, click Duplicate, edit the duration and price, save. 30 seconds vs. building from scratch.
Tips
- Start with a few good services: 5-10 well-described services beat 30 confusing ones.
- Description matters: customers compare. "Quick haircut" sells less than "Polished cut for busy professionals".
- Always test from the customer view: open your booking page in incognito and try to book the service. If anything looks off, fix.
- Use Inactive for retired services: don't delete (you keep historical bookings tied to them), just deactivate.
- Plan service categories before adding services: changing categories later is more friction than upfront thinking.
