The Profile section is the customer's self-service area.
What customer can edit
Personal info
- Name (first + last)
- Phone
- Email (not self-changed once registered)
- Birthday
- Gender (optional)
- Address
Password change
Enter old, set new.
Marketing preferences
- Marketing email: on / off
- Marketing SMS: on / off
- Booking confirmation email: always on (transactional)
- Booking reminder email: on / off
- Booking reminder SMS: on / off
"Booking confirmation" always sent regardless of marketing toggles.
Push notification preferences
Separate section (see: Push notifications article).
What customer can't edit themselves
- Email address
- Loyalty points balance
- Booking history
- Customer status / VIP flag
Marketing consent compliance
Bookinda automatically respects customer preferences. Opted-out customers are flagged in marketing segmentation.

Scenario 1: Customer gets too many marketing emails
You say: "Log into portal, Profile → Marketing preferences → toggle off." 30 seconds.

Logs in, Profile → phone change, save. Salon record auto-updates.
Scenario 3: Periodic password change
Security-conscious customer changes every 6 months. Self-service.
Scenario 4: Customer exercises GDPR rights

- Encourage portal use: less reception load.
- Respect marketing preferences.
