Configure default settings for membership billing and notifications
Membership Settings
Configure global settings that apply to all memberships.
Accessing Settings
- Go to Memberships in main menu
- Click Settings tab
- Configure options below
Cancellation Settings
Default Cancellation Notice
- How many days before renewal customers must cancel
- Example: 14 days = can't cancel within 2 weeks of renewal
- Individual plans can override this default
Payment Retry Settings
Retry Schedule
Configure when to retry failed payments:
- Retry Day 1 - e.g., 1 day after failure
- Retry Day 2 - e.g., 3 days after failure
- Retry Day 3 - e.g., 7 days after failure
Max Retries
- Number of retry attempts before giving up
- Default: 3 retries
Cancel on Final Failure
- Toggle ON: Cancel membership after max retries
- Toggle OFF: Keep active, require manual resolution
Renewal Reminder Settings
Send Renewal Reminder
- Toggle ON: Send reminder before billing
- Toggle OFF: No reminder sent
Reminder Days
- How many days before renewal to send
- Default: 7 days
- Gives customers time to update payment or cancel
Saving Settings
- Adjust settings as needed
- Click Save Changes
- Settings apply to all memberships
Notes
- Changes apply to future renewals, not past ones
- Individual plan settings override global defaults
- Test notifications after changing settings
