Automated notifications keep customers informed about their membership status.
Available Triggers
Configure these in Automations:
MEMBERSHIP_PURCHASED
- When: New membership is activated
- Purpose: Welcome customer, confirm details
- Content: Plan name, price, benefits, start date
MEMBERSHIP_RENEWAL_REMINDER
- When: X days before renewal (configurable)
- Purpose: Remind customer of upcoming charge
- Content: Billing date, amount, how to cancel/update
MEMBERSHIP_RENEWED
- When: Successful renewal payment
- Purpose: Confirm continued membership
- Content: New period dates, amount charged
MEMBERSHIP_CANCELLED
- When: Customer or staff cancels
- Purpose: Confirm cancellation details
- Content: Effective date, benefits end date
MEMBERSHIP_EXPIRED
- When: Cancelled membership reaches end date
- Purpose: Final notification of membership end
- Content: Benefits no longer available
MEMBERSHIP_PAYMENT_FAILED
- When: Renewal payment fails
- Purpose: Alert customer to update payment
- Content: Error info, retry schedule, update link

Setting Up Notifications
Via Automations Page
- Go to Automations in main menu
- Find Memberships category
- Enable desired triggers
- Customize email/SMS templates
- Save changes
Channels
- Email - Rich HTML with full details
- SMS - Short text notifications
- WhatsApp - If enabled in your plan
Best Practices
- Welcome Email - Make it warm and informative
- Renewal Reminders - Give enough notice (7+ days)
- Payment Failed - Be helpful, not alarming
- Cancellation - Thank them, leave door open
