Automated notifications keep customers informed about their membership status.

Available Triggers

Configure these in Automations:

MEMBERSHIP_PURCHASED

  • When: New membership is activated
  • Purpose: Welcome customer, confirm details
  • Content: Plan name, price, benefits, start date

MEMBERSHIP_RENEWAL_REMINDER

  • When: X days before renewal (configurable)
  • Purpose: Remind customer of upcoming charge
  • Content: Billing date, amount, how to cancel/update

MEMBERSHIP_RENEWED

  • When: Successful renewal payment
  • Purpose: Confirm continued membership
  • Content: New period dates, amount charged

MEMBERSHIP_CANCELLED

  • When: Customer or staff cancels
  • Purpose: Confirm cancellation details
  • Content: Effective date, benefits end date

MEMBERSHIP_EXPIRED

  • When: Cancelled membership reaches end date
  • Purpose: Final notification of membership end
  • Content: Benefits no longer available

MEMBERSHIP_PAYMENT_FAILED

  • When: Renewal payment fails
  • Purpose: Alert customer to update payment
  • Content: Error info, retry schedule, update link

Use these placeholders in your templates:

Customer Info

  • {{client_name}} - Full name
  • {{client_first_name}} - First name only
  • {{client_email}} - Email address

Membership Info

  • {{membership_name}} - Plan name
  • {{monthly_price}} - Monthly amount
  • {{next_billing_date}} - Next charge date
  • {{cancellation_date}} - When membership ends (if cancelled)
  • {{days_until_renewal}} - Days until next charge

Business Info

  • {{business_name}} - Your salon name
  • {{portal_link}} - Customer portal URL

Setting Up Notifications

Via Automations Page

  1. Go to Automations in main menu
  2. Find Memberships category
  3. Enable desired triggers
  4. Customize email/SMS templates
  5. Save changes

Channels

  • Email - Rich HTML with full details
  • SMS - Short text notifications
  • WhatsApp - If enabled in your plan

Best Practices

  1. Welcome Email - Make it warm and informative
  2. Renewal Reminders - Give enough notice (7+ days)
  3. Payment Failed - Be helpful, not alarming
  4. Cancellation - Thank them, leave door open
