How to redeem vouchers at checkout

Redeeming Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers can be redeemed as payment at checkout, either in full or partially.

At Checkout

  1. Complete the service/sale as normal
  2. When ready to pay, click Add Payment
  3. Select Gift Voucher as the payment method
  4. Enter the voucher code
  5. The system will:
    • Validate the voucher
    • Show the available balance
    • Apply the amount to the sale

Partial Redemption

If the voucher balance is more than the sale total:

  • Only the sale amount is deducted
  • The remaining balance stays on the voucher
  • The voucher can be used for future purchases

If the voucher balance is less than the sale total:

  • The full voucher balance is applied
  • The remaining amount must be paid with another method
  • Use split payment to add cash/card for the difference

Service-Specific Vouchers

Some vouchers are linked to specific services:

  • Can only be used for the linked service
  • The system will warn if the voucher doesn't apply
  • Full amount is still available for the correct service

Checking Voucher Balance

Before checkout, you can look up any voucher:

  1. Go to Gift Vouchers > Vouchers
  2. Search by code
  3. View balance and redemption history

Redemption History

Each voucher tracks:

  • All redemptions with dates and amounts
  • Which sale/appointment it was used for
  • Who processed the redemption
  • Remaining balance after each use

Online redemption

If enabled, customers can use vouchers during online booking:

  • Enter code during checkout
  • Balance is automatically applied
  • Works with partial redemptions

Use case scenarios

Scenario 1: Full-amount redemption

Customer pays with a 20k voucher for a 20k service. Reception scans the voucher code, applies, transaction balanced. Voucher status changes to Redeemed.

Scenario 2: Partial redemption + extra

Customer has a 30k voucher. Today's bill is 35k. Reception applies the voucher (30k), customer pays the remaining 5k cash. Voucher status: Redeemed.

Scenario 3: Partial redemption + balance left

Customer has a 30k voucher. Today's bill is 18k. Apply 18k of voucher. Voucher balance: 12k Ft remaining for next visit.

Scenario 4: Online redemption

Customer books online and pays with voucher code. The system applies the balance during checkout, no manual intervention.

Tips

  • Always read the voucher code carefully: confusing 0 (zero) and O (letter) is common.
  • Communicate the remaining balance: "you still have 12k Ft on your voucher for next time".
  • Print receipt with balance: customers like the visual reminder.
  • Online and offline use the same balance: don't double-redeem.
