Pay partial amounts and track remaining balance
Partial Payment
When a customer can only pay part of the total, the partial payment feature helps manage the situation.
Starting a Partial Payment
- Open the checkout drawer
- Above the payment button, click the Pay partial amount... link
- Enter the amount to pay (the system automatically calculates the remaining balance)
- Select the payment method and click the Checkout button
Tracking the Balance
- The sale receives PARTIAL status
- The success screen shows a progress bar with paid/total ratio
- In the Sales list, a mini progress bar indicates payment status
- The Pay Now button allows continuing payment at any time
Full Settlement
On the customer's next visit, the remaining balance appears automatically in checkout and can be settled.
