How Referrals Work

1. Customer gets unique code: Each loyalty member has a referral code
2. Friend uses code: New customer enters code during booking
3. Friend completes visit: First appointment is completed (not cancelled/no-show)
4. Both get rewarded: Referrer and friend receive their rewards

Referral Configuration

Enable Referrals

Toggle the referral program on/off in Loyalty Settings.

Referrer Reward

What the existing customer gets:

• Points: Award bonus points (e.g., 500 points)
• Reward: Grant a specific reward (e.g., $20 off)

Friend Reward

What the new customer gets:

• Discount: Welcome discount (e.g., 20% off first visit)
• Reward: Grant a specific reward from your catalog

Referral Limits

Prevent abuse with monthly limits:

• Max referrals per month: e.g., 5 per customer
• Cooldown period: Days between referral rewards

Referral Codes

Each customer's loyalty account has a unique referral code:

• Format: 8-character alphanumeric (e.g., "JOHN1234")
• Custom prefix: Add business name (e.g., "SALON-JOHN1234")
• Shareable link: Direct booking link with code embedded

Tracking Referrals

Monitor referral performance:

• Pending: Friend has registered but not completed visit
• Completed: First appointment completed
• Rewarded: Both parties received rewards

Best Practices

Make Sharing Easy

• Provide referral code in customer profile
• Send referral link via email/SMS
• Add to receipts and appointment confirmations

Reward Both Parties

• Referrer feels valued for recommendation
• Friend feels welcomed with special offer

Set Realistic Limits

• Prevent gaming while encouraging sharing
• 5-10 referrals/month is reasonable
• Consider tiered rewards (more referrals = better rewards)
