Using the day view

How to read and work with a single-day calendar layout, the view you'll use most

Using the day view

Day view is the default and the one you'll use 90% of the time. It shows everything happening today (or any chosen day) with one column per staff member or resource.

What each column means

Each column is one person or resource:

  • The header has the avatar, name, and that day's working hours.
  • The body of the column is the time grid, divided into 30-minute slots.
  • Appointment cards land in the column of whoever is performing the service.
  • Greyed-out areas at the top or bottom show times the staff isn't working.

The time grid

  • Runs across the working hours of your salon (set in Settings → Profile → Business Hours).
  • Major lines on every hour, lighter lines at the half-hour.
  • A red horizontal line tracks the current time.
  • Slots glow with a soft highlight when you hover the mouse over them so you can see where you'd land if you clicked.

Clicking a slot

A click on an empty slot opens a small context menu with two options:

  • Add appointment: opens the booking modal pre-filled with that staff and that start time.
  • Add blocked time: opens the same modal on the Block tab to mark the slot unavailable.

Don't want the menu? You can also drag-to-select a range, which jumps straight into a new booking. See Drag-to-select for the full mechanic.

Reading appointment cards

Cards are positioned at their start time and stretch to match their duration. Color coding:

  • Service color fills the card (set per service category in Services).
  • Status color is the left-edge stripe (booked, confirmed, arrived, etc.).
  • Resource appears in teal text below the service name.
  • Add-ons appear as small lines below the service.

A purple package icon means the appointment is using a customer's prepaid package session.

Blocked time looks different

Blocks are easy to tell apart:

  • Square corners (not rounded like appointments).
  • Grey diagonal stripes pattern.
  • The title you typed shows in the middle.
  • The whole thing is non-clickable for customers booking online (unless you set the override).

Multi-day mode

Want to see two or three days side by side? Switch to 3-day view in the header. It uses the same layout as Day view, just stacks 3 days horizontally. Same column-per-staff structure, just narrower.

Tips

  • Click on any appointment to open its details. From there you can edit, reschedule, or change status.
  • Drag an appointment to a different staff column or time slot to reschedule it instantly.
  • Use the keyboard arrow keys to flip between days quickly.
  • If a staff member doesn't appear, check the filter, they're probably hidden under "Scheduled team only".
