Use case scenarios
Scenario 1: Hair salon retention play
A hair salon offers a "5x cuts package" at 12% off. A regular customer used to come every 6 weeks. After buying the package she comes every 4 weeks instead, because she's already paid. The salon gets 25% more visits from her, the customer gets 12% off and a feeling of having "her" salon.
Scenario 2: Spa day-pass concept
A spa creates a "10x massage package, valid 6 months". Wealthy customers buy it as a self-gift. The spa books predictable revenue, the customers commit to their wellness routine.
Scenario 3: Nail studio first-time deal
"Try us 3x" package for new clients: 3 manicures at 25% off the regular price. New clients are 3-5x more likely to become regulars after the third visit. This package is the conversion engine.
Scenario 4: Gift packages for the holidays
Around Christmas, the salon promotes "Glow package, 3 facials at 15% off". Customers buy them for friends, family, partners. The package shows up on the recipient's profile when they redeem the voucher.
When packages don't work
- One-off services that customers rarely repeat. A package of "wedding makeup" makes no sense.
- Highly variable services where the price depends heavily on hair length, skin condition, etc.
- If your discount is too small to motivate: less than 8% rarely moves the needle.
- If your customers don't trust you yet: a customer's first visit isn't the moment to push a 10x package. Earn the relationship first.
