Leave Types and Time Off
Track and manage different types of staff absences with visual indicators in the schedule.
Available Leave Types
Day Off
Regular non-working day. Used for normal days off in the schedule.
Vacation
Planned holiday time. Tracked against annual leave allowance.
Sick Leave
Illness-related absence. Important for HR records and patterns.
Unpaid Leave
Leave without pay for personal matters or extended time off.
Training
Professional development time, courses, or certifications.
Visual Indicators
Each leave type has a distinct color and icon:
- Day Off: Gray background, house icon
- Vacation: Blue background, beach icon
- Sick Leave: Red background, face icon
- Unpaid Leave: Orange background, clipboard icon
- Training: Purple background, book icon
Setting Leave Types
Single Day
- Click on a schedule cell
- Toggle "Working Day" off
- The system automatically sets it as a day off
Multiple Days (Bulk)
- Click Multi-Select in the header
- Check the boxes for the days you want to set
- Click Set Leave Type in the bulk actions bar
- Select the leave type from the dropdown
- All selected days will be updated
Calendar Integration
Leave entries automatically:
- Block the calendar for bookings
- Show in the staff member's calendar view
- Are included in schedule exports
Reports
Leave data can be exported with the weekly schedule, showing:
- Leave type for each day
- Total days off per staff member
- Type breakdown in the summary row
Use case scenarios
Scenario 1: Annual vacation
Anna requests 2 weeks. Manager marks each day Vacation. Calendar blocks bookings, online booking disabled.
Scenario 2: Sudden sick day
Bella calls in sick. Manager marks today Sick Leave. Affected appointments need reassignment, communicated to customers.
Scenario 3: Training day
The team has a product training day. All staff marked Training for that day. Salon closed for customers.
Scenario 4: Unpaid leave
Cili needs 1 day unpaid for personal matter. Marked Unpaid Leave. Counts in absence reports but separate from paid balance.

- Mark sick leave promptly: medical compliance.
- Vacation in advance: easier to plan around.
- Export for HR: monthly leave summary for payroll.
