Tax regime and accountant settings
How to configure your business form and accountant info
Tax regime & accountant settings
Before the Tax Tracker can do its job, set your business regime. One-time action, found in Finances → Settings.
Choosing a tax regime
Six options:
None
General revenue/expense tracking only. Tax Tracker calculates nothing. Useful when unsure of regime or when no Bookinda-driven tax obligation.
KATA (full-time small entrepreneur)
50,000 HUF monthly fixed tax, 18M HUF annual cap. Two extra fields:
- Monthly KATA amount (HUF): default 50,000, change to 25,000 if part-time
- Annual cap (HUF): default 18,000,000, edit only if certain
Flat-rate 40%
General services (consultants). 60% of revenue is taxable base.
Flat-rate 80%
Service providers (hair, beauty, massage). Most beauty industry salons fit here. 20% of revenue is taxable.
Flat-rate 90%
Retail. 10% of revenue is taxable.
General VAT (limited companies)
27% / 18% / 5% with deductions. Extra field:
- VAT filing frequency: monthly, quarterly, or annual (set by tax authority, not you)
When to use it
Scenario 1, opening a new salon Finances → Settings. Pick regime (usually Flat-rate 80%), Save. Tax Tracker calculates from this point.
Scenario 2, switching mid-year E.g., KATA to flat-rate. Edit here, Save. Change applies forward, past data untouched.
Scenario 3, part-time KATA Finances → Settings → KATA. Monthly KATA: enter 25,000. Annual cap stays at 18M for part-time too.
Scenario 4, becoming VAT-registered General VAT option. Filing frequency field appears, pick the one assigned by the tax authority.
Accountant info
Second card holds your accountant:
- Accountant name (e.g., László Kovács)
- Email (we can send monthly reports directly here)
- Accountant software: Generic CSV/XLSX, RLB, Kulcs-Soft, Novitax
Software choice also influences the Export tab, which suggests your accountant's preferred format by default.
Tips
- Choosing a regime here is not an official filing, only for internal Bookinda calculation. File separately with the tax authority.
- 80% flat-rate is for beauty industry, if you do hair, beauty, massage, nails.
- Use the official KATA monthly amount, default 50,000 HUF. 25,000 for part-time.
- Accountant email is useful when you want to send the monthly report with one click.
- Tax regime is set per tenant, configure each salon separately if you have multiple.
- Save each card separately, tax regime and accountant info have two distinct Save buttons.
