How to submit and manage time-off requests as a staff member
Submitting Time-Off Requests
Learn how to submit time-off requests and track their status through the approval process.
Creating a New Request
Step 1: Open Request Form
- Navigate to Team > Staff > Time-Off
- Click the New Request button
- The request form opens
Step 2: Select Leave Type
Choose the type of leave:
- Vacation
- Sick Leave
- Personal Day
- Unpaid Leave
- Maternity/Paternity
- Training
- Other
Step 3: Set Dates
- Start Date - First day of leave
- End Date - Last day of leave
- Partial Day - Toggle for half-days
Step 4: Partial Day Options
If taking a partial day:
- Set Start Time and End Time
- System calculates hours automatically
Step 5: Add Details
- Reason - Brief explanation (optional for some types)
- Notes - Additional information for approver
- Location - Select if multi-location business
Step 6: Submit
Click Submit Request to send for approval.
Request Status
Requests can have these statuses:
- Pending - Awaiting review
- Approved - Manager approved
- Rejected - Manager declined
- Cancelled - You cancelled the request
- Withdrawn - Withdrawn before decision
Viewing Your Requests
- Go to Team > Staff > Time-Off
- Click My Requests tab
- See all your past and pending requests
Cancelling a Request
While a request is still pending:
- Find the request in your list
- Click the Cancel button
- Confirm cancellation
Tips
- Submit requests in advance (check minimum notice days)
- Include clear reasons for faster approval
- Check your balance before submitting
- Review conflicts shown in the request form
