In-app notification center
The notification center sits behind the 🔔 icon in the Bookinda manager sidebar. Here you see what happened in the salon while you weren't at the screen.
Where to find it
Top of the left sidebar: 🔔 icon. Red badge with count if unread.
Full list at /manager/notifications. Filters:
- All (default)
- Unread
- Online bookings
- Cancellations
- Payments
- New customers
The 9 notification types
Each with its own icon and color:
1. Online booking (green)
New customer booked online. "John Doe booked: Haircut, 2026-05-05 14:00."
2. Cancellation (red)
Customer cancelled. "Anna Kovács cancelled: Manicure, 2026-05-04 10:00."
3. Reschedule (yellow)
Customer moved. "Paul Szabó moved: 2026-05-03 → 2026-05-10."
4. Deposit (blue)
Deposit received. "Eva Nagy paid 5,000 HUF deposit."
5. Payment (green)
Payment received. "John Doe paid: 12,500 HUF."
6. New customer (purple)
Customer registered. "New registration: Mary Tóth."
7. Review (yellow)
Customer reviewed. "★★★★★ Anna: 'Amazing service!'"
8. Reminder (blue)
Internal, usually system: "Tomorrow is a long day, 12 bookings."
9. System (gray)
Platform message. E.g., "Bookinda update: new group classes module available."
Action links
Many notifications include a link to the source:
- Booking notification → calendar view at that time
- Customer notification → customer profile
- Review → full review page
- Payment → transaction details
One click and you're there.
Actions
Right side of the list:
- Mark read (small check)
- Delete (X)
- Mark all read (top of stack)
- Delete all (top)
Tenant settings
Different staff roles see different notifications:
- Owner / Manager: everything
- Reception: bookings, cancellations, payments
- Staff: only their own bookings

When to use it
Scenario 1, reception Morning arrival, check the 🔔 icon. 5 new online bookings overnight. One click → see how they fit on the calendar.
Scenario 2, silent cancellation tsunami 8 cancellations overnight. Strange. Open and check, is it a specific service or staff? Or timing (epidemic, holiday)?
Scenario 3, reviews Weekly review check. ★★★★★? Thank, post on social. ★? Reach out, fix the issue.
Scenario 4, delegation via reception Reception role sees notifications, you the owner only want reviews and payments → role customization.
Scenario 5, don't leave unread Weekly "Mark all read." Avoid 200 unread piling up so new ones aren't lost.
Tips
- 🔔 icon is the salon's "vital pulse", check daily.
- Bulk delete is risky, you may delete important info. If unsure, just "Mark all read."
- Reviews deserve a separate workflow, don't just handle in 🔔. May need compensation after a bad review.
- Notifications don't replace email, they supplement. If you're not on manager for 3 days, email is the backup.
- Staff role sees only their bookings, which is correct. Privacy matters.
- Notification retention is usually 30-90 days. Old unread notifications auto-expire.
