Tracking ID setup

Google Analytics 4 ID + Meta Pixel ID generation and injection

Tracking ID setup

Get Google Analytics and Meta Pixel IDs separately on their own platforms, then paste into Bookinda to activate.

Google Analytics 4 ID setup

Step 1: Create GA4 property

  1. analytics.google.com → login
  2. Admin (bottom left)
  3. Property → Create Property
  4. Property name: e.g., "Salon X"
  5. Time zone: Budapest
  6. Currency: HUF
  7. Industry: Beauty / Wellness
  8. Business size: appropriate
  9. Create

Step 2: Create Data Stream

  1. Property → Data Streams
  2. Web stream
  3. Website URL: salon domain (e.g., salon.bookinda.hu)
  4. Stream name: "Bookinda Public Pages"
  5. Create stream

Step 3: Copy Measurement ID

On created stream:

  • Measurement ID: G-XXXXXXXXXX (copy)

Step 4: Paste in Bookinda

  1. Bookinda → Connect → Analytics
  2. Google Analytics ID field → paste
  3. Save

Tracking immediately active, next public page open sends data to GA4.

Meta Pixel ID setup

Step 1: Facebook Business Manager

  1. business.facebook.com → login
  2. Events Manager → left sidebar

Step 2: Create new Pixel

  1. Connect Data Sources → Web → Connect
  2. Pixel option
  3. Create
  4. Name: e.g., "Bookinda Salon X"
  5. Website URL: salon domain
  6. Continue

Step 3: Copy Pixel ID

  • Pixel ID: 15-16 digit numeric (copy)

Step 4: Paste in Bookinda

  1. Bookinda → Connect → Analytics
  2. Facebook Pixel ID field → paste
  3. Save

Pixel immediately active.

Validation

Bookinda doesn't validate pasted ID (any string accepted technically). ID correctness visible on reader platform (GA4 / Facebook):

  • GA4: Realtime → Live users (1+ user when public page opens)
  • Facebook: Events Manager → Pixel → "Test Events" → live event visible

If no data arriving, check:

  • ID correct format
  • Salon public page loads (HTML shows tracking script)
  • No cookie blocker in browser

Disable

Bookinda Connect → Analytics → delete IDs + Save. Tracking stops immediately.

(Or global analyticsConnectEnabled toggle off.)

Privacy and cookie consent

Mandatory cookie banner on salon public pages:

  • Mini-website settings: cookie banner toggle (if implementation exists)
  • Or third-party cookie banner script (CookieBot, Cookieyes, etc.)
  • Customer opt-out → no tracking

Bookinda currently doesn't provide automatic consent management. Salon owner's responsibility.

When to use it

Scenario 1, new salon with Analytics at launch During onboarding create Google Analytics account + Meta Pixel. Paste IDs in Bookinda. Data flow immediate.

Scenario 2, existing GA4 user Salon owner already uses GA4 on own website. Creates new property for Bookinda public pages (separate measurement).

Scenario 3, Meta Pixel swap Salon switched to new Facebook account. New pixel ID. Replace old ID in Bookinda.

Scenario 4, multi-location Multiple locations, separate GA4 property each: not supported (Bookinda tracking ID is tenant-level, not location-level). One common GA4 + URL-parameter filtering.

Tips

  • GA4 data accurate after 24-48 hours (real-time visible immediately, but reports delayed).
  • Meta Pixel measures instantly, real-time event feed.
  • Tracking ID is public, safe to share.
  • Multi-Pixel (multiple FB Pixels) currently not supported, only one.
  • Tracking works same on custom domain, only salon domain trackers.
  • Bookinda Manager UI is NOT tracked, only public pages.
